Non-urgent advice: In cases of major injury or critical condition

In cases of major injury or critical condition, it may be more appropriate to go directly to your local Hospital Accident & Emergency Department. If an Ambulance is required, dial 999.

Home Visits — How to Get One Today

If you’re too unwell to come into the surgery, we can arrange a doctor or clinician to visit you at home.
Please call us before 10:30am on the day you need the visit.

How to Request a Visit

What to do:

  1. Call the practice before 10:30am
  2. Tell the receptionist why you think you need a visit
  3. A clinician will assess your condition and decide the most suitable care

We will always:

  • Ask questions to understand how unwell you are
  • Arrange a home visit if the clinician feels it is medically necessary

Who is this for?

Home visits are usually for people who:

  • Are bedbound
  • Would be harmed by travel
  • Have a serious medical need

When a visit may not be appropriate

A home visit is not recommended if you are:

  • Able to travel to the surgery
  • Mobile (even with walking aids)
  • Calling for convenience reasons
  • Having a non-urgent check or question
